Get the Moonmirror Shield in Adventures of Elliot by clearing the underwater lily-pad dungeon, defeating its bomb-swallowing boss, opening the final chest, and returning it to Ugene for activation.
If you’ve been poking around the reworked dungeon in Adventures of Elliot on Switch, the prize waiting at the bottom is the Moonmirror Shield. This is the Zelda-like story dungeon that ran in last year’s demo, rebuilt with some changes. The shield drops from a chest in the boss room, and on first look it’s a genuine mirror, just a little cloudy and heavier-feeling than it appears.
The Moonmirror Shield is the reward at the end of the underwater lily-pad dungeon — work through the dungeon, beat the bomb-swallowing boss, open the final chest to claim the shield, then take it back to Ugene, because it has no usable power until it’s activated.
How to reach the Moonmirror Shield in Adventures of Elliot
STEP 1/9
Drop beneath the flower

The dungeon opens into a surprisingly roomy chamber tucked underneath the flower.
STEP 2/9
Cross the water

Slide across the water’s surface to reach the far side and push deeper in.
STEP 3/9
Grab the chain and sickle

This weapon spins around to attack foes, giving you a way to clear the rooms ahead.
STEP 4/9
Pick up the flame

The flame lights your way through rooms that are otherwise in total darkness.
STEP 5/9
Collect the Magisite

Tuck away the Magisite you find here as you keep working through the dungeon.
STEP 6/9
Fight through the flooded rooms

Several rooms shut you in with enemies you have to clear before moving on.
STEP 7/9
Find the special key

Grab the special key, then hunt down the door it opens further in.
STEP 8/9
Save at the record point
Make a record of your adventure here before the dungeon’s big fight.
STEP 9/9
Brace for the boss

A warning hits that something big is coming — ready yourself for the boss room.
Beating the bomb-swallowing boss

The boss is a huge creature that’s mostly mouth, with a blower of some kind mounted over its head. The moment the fight starts it tries to suck everything in, you included, which is what makes the room feel dangerous. The trick is to use that against it: let it inhale the bombs, and the instant it’s gulping them down and left vulnerable, go in and attack. Then you repeat — feed it more bombs, wait for the opening, hit it again.
Don’t swing wildly at the boss — let it inhale the bombs first, then attack only while it’s swallowing them, and back off the moment it starts winding up for something new.
Take the shield to Ugene to activate it
It may just need a good shine, or there might be some trick to switching its power on. Either way, the activation is a separate step — the move is to carry the shield back out and have Ugene take a look at it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Moonmirror Shield do anything as soon as you find it?
No. On pickup it feels sturdier than it looks, but there’s no special power to it yet — you have to bring it to Ugene to get it activated.
What weapon do you get inside the dungeon?
A chain and sickle, found partway through the route. You spin it around to attack foes, and it’s what carries you through the enemy rooms on the way to the boss.
Do you have to beat the boss to get the shield?
Yes. The shield sits in a chest that only becomes available after the bomb-swallowing boss is down, so there’s no skipping the fight.
How do you damage the bomb-swallowing boss?
Let it suck up the bombs, then attack while it’s gulping them and vulnerable. Repeat that loop through its phases, and break off and run whenever it starts winding up for something different.
Is this the Roblox Grow a Garden 2 “Moonmirror Shield”?
No — different game entirely. This Moonmirror Shield is a story item in Press Start! – Adventures of Elliot on Switch. Any costs, rarity tiers, or mirror mechanics you’ve seen attached to a same-named Roblox item don’t apply here.
